In his designs, Ukrainian knifemaker Alexander Krava succeeds admirably in combining form and function at the highest level. Inspired by Koteyka, a virus with a cat as the figurehead, which is not taken entirely seriously by those familiar with the computer scene, the designer created the slipjoint knife of the same name. Three dimensionally milled G10 handle scales with a velvety paw structure all the way to the back of the blade provide for an incomparable grip, while the D2 blade with a stonewash finish lies in wait and is only released on its prey from everyday cutting tasks with a quiet purr of the nail nick. Even without a locking mechanism, the blade is held securely by the taut spring between the stainless steel liners. It is not equipped with a clip or a lanyard hole, but with a lot of elegance.
