Very Nice

Wanted a small carbon steel knife with a positive lock blade and this is it. It is small enough to sit in your pocket without being too obnoxious or in a belt pouch. I wanted something that was easy to sharpen, with good edge retention and comfortable. This does it all. As this is the extra small those with larger hands may find it fiddly to use but this will suit most people of all ages and is perfect for an older child's first knife. I am using it for cutting fruits such as orange, apple, pear etc and it does it wonderfully. Comes out of the box very sharp however I had to profile the point and put my own cutting edge angle (that's just me). The larger knives from what I have read have an edge like an axe so may need reprofiling but this is small enough that it doesn't really need it. I got the handle made of olive but it doesn't look like it as olive is generally a tight ringed, finely grained wood and this one, though fine grained, is very wide ringed making me think it is possibly a different wood. 4 stars as even though I didn't have to reprofile the edge, the point did require it and the handle wood doesn't seem to be what I expected. If taken care of it should last a lifetime. Well recommended.
